What makes Designer Fluff pillows different?

At DF, we are exclusively dedicated to creating pillows of tangible, lasting quality, made in our two US workrooms by career seamsters who specialize in the craft of pillow making. Your projects will benefit from our timely, cost-effective production process and our top-quality finishes, including: careful pattern matching, joining both sides of the pillow; finely-finished durable seams; and concealed, zippered closures.

As an interior design professional, your clients count on you to make their home uniquely their own. In turn, you can count on Designer Fluff to be your throw pillow workroom, providing each of your interiors with that sophisticated, personal finishing touch.

What kind of pillow fillers do you use?

We offer three types of high quality inserts:

Down/Feather

Our most popular inserts for residential applications are 25% down and 75% feather.

Synthetic

We also have a synthetic Microloft insert, our most popular insert for commercial applications and for people with allergies. You may select which type of insert you would like from the drop down menu when you place your order.

Outdoor

Filled with water-resistant, durable fibers designed to stand up in many weather conditions. (Please allow extra lead time.)

What is a knife edge?

Our knife edge seam is the cleanest and simplest form of finishing our pillows. The DF pillows in the stack pictured below all feature a knife edge.

What is a self-welt edge?

Our self welt is 3/8″ piping that is used in place of a seam to give the pillow a finished look.

How do my clients care for their pillows?

How do I know which pillow size to buy?

We offer our pillows in the sizes and shapes most commonly used in the design industry. The various sizes, shapes and patterns lend themselves to layering for an effortless designer look. The 18″ square pillow is the most common size, followed by 20″ square. If you have a lower back or more modern sofa, we recommend the 18″ square pillows and/or the smaller lumbar size of 12×20″. Those are also great sizes for twin, full, and queen size beds. They usually work nicely for most chairs as well. For larger sofas and king size beds, you may want to try our larger square and lumbar size pillows. Keep in mind the width, depth, and height of the application you are working with to choose the correct scale of your pillows.

If you are still in doubt as to which size is best for your space, use a measuring tape so you can be sure. Remember, these are just general tips, rules are meant to be broken!

Do you make custom sizes?

We have a 7 business day turnaround time for all pillows that are ordered in our standard sizes, finishes and fills.

We are always happy to take custom requests, but please note that lead time and pricing may adjust accordingly.
